At Katone, we believe that clothing should feel as good as it looks. Our journey began with a love for oversized tees — their laid-back vibe, roomy comfort, and modern aesthetic. But something always felt a little off. The sleeves were too loose, or the fit didn’t complement the shape we envisioned. So, we decided to do something about it.

We rolled up our sleeves (literally) and started sewing our own prototypes. Our goal? To create a tee that kept the wide, oversized body and iconic drop shoulders but with sleeves that hugged just right. After countless experiments and tweaks, we landed on a fit we knew was special — one that felt fresh yet familiar.

To bring our vision to life, we partnered with a talented cut-and-sew manufacturer in Los Angeles. We sourced high-quality French terry cotton that is thick and heavy yet incredibly breathable, ensuring both durability and comfort. The process wasn’t quick or easy. Over the course of a year, we obsessed over every detail, from sleeve length to fabric weight, making countless trips between LA and Orange County to ensure the fit was perfect. Every seam, stitch, and silhouette reflects our obsession with quality and design.

Next, we worked with a different local shop in Orange County to develop unique dye techniques that perfectly complement our two main designs. These dyes add character and depth, making each piece feel truly one-of-a-kind.

We also designed the front embroidery art and back screenprint art with a minimalist approach, infused with a subtle anime vibe. It’s the kind of "if you know, you know" aesthetic that speaks to fans without being overt. Large graphic tees aren’t really our style, but we still wanted to rock anime-inspired apparel — and this is our answer.
